I don’t photograph maternity sessions as often as engagements and weddings, but when I do, they’re as sweet and special as Belen and Jerrit’s! Belen was absolutely glowing on and off the camera, making my job as her maternity photographer incredibly easy. Belen and Jerrit’s Southern California Maternity Session

We decided on two separate locations for this maternity photoshoot – Malibu Creek State Park and El Matador State Beach. Malibu Creek had these beautiful, grassy fields filled with wildflowers and so much open space! The perfect location for a session like this, I’m telling you. Belen brought two different outfits for her shoot; a more laid back, casual one with jeans and a more elegant one with this stunning white, flowy dress. Expecting mamas, I know how hard it can be to choose an outfit for photos, let alone two! But your look doesn’t have to be complicated in order to be cute. All you need is a cute top, a pair of jeans that don’t even need to zip, and a flowy, comfy dress! 

After our time at Malibu Creek, we visited El Matador State Beach to catch the sunset. Can I just say, there are few things more gorgeous than a Southern California sunset at the beach! Mother Nature really showed off for us that evening, giving Belen and Jerrit the perfect setting for the second half of their maternity session. By the time we were done, my heart was so full from capturing such a momentous time in their lives. Since this session, Belen has had her baby girl and I couldn’t be more excited for their journey as parents! I am extremely grateful to be Tia (auntie) Mattie to sweet Valerie and will relish every moment of her growing up as a part of their lives!
