Sterling and Chelsea’s sunrise photos at Joshua Tree National Park made me fall in LOVE with shooting during the quiet, beautiful morning hours. Couples usually tend to opt for golden-hour sunset photos here in the desert, but I’m so glad we planned a sunrise session for these two. Whether you’re newly engaged or want “just because” photos of you and your love, this blog will give you some amazing inspiration!

Chelsea and Sterling’s Sunrise Photos at Joshua Tree National Park

These two booked a trip to Joshua Tree to celebrate Sterling’s 30th birthday and commemorate him finishing the demanding journey of getting his master’s degree. What better reason to cross Joshua Tree National Park off your bucket list, right?! I looove when married couples see the value of having their photos taken once your wedding day has come and gone. Celebrating the little moments and big trips is everything I’m about! They were looking to do a fun, creative session to remember such a sentimental and celebratory trip to the desert!

They planned this trip well over a year in advance to secure their spot at THE Joshua Tree House during their exploration of California. This house books 12+ months in advance, which is so crazy! Thankfully their planning skills came in handy and they were able to stay at their dream location. After that, all they needed was a Joshua Tree photographer to take some beautiful photos of them at their stop! 

When I met Chelsea and Sterling at the park for sunrise, I could immediately tell they were such lovely and bubbly people. While I can be super introverted except when it comes to photography, I had a BLAST hanging out with them and taking the most epic sunrise photos! We started the day on the best note possible, and it only carried through (and got even better) into the rest of their session. We witnessed the sun coming just up over the horizon, not a moment too late to capture on camera. Sunrise in Joshua Tree National Park is pretty dang special. I highly recommend if you want to avoid the sunset crowds and want to feel like you have the entire park to yourself for a few blissful moments.
