When Maddie and I first connected, thanks to a mutual friend in the wedding planning world, it was clear we were a perfect match. Maddie’s love for Super 8 films and all things vintage resonated with my passion for capturing timeless moments. It didn’t take long for us to go from client and photographer to the best of friends, planning an engagement session that felt like a day out with lifelong companions!

Their Los Angeles engagement session began in the comfort of Maddie and Devin’s stylish apartment, surrounded by their beloved kitties (Dash, Simon, and Nelson) and the melodies of their favorite records. The laughter, the casual vibe of getting ready together, and the shared love for tacos set the tone for a day filled with joy and authenticity.

As we ventured out, each location we visited was a chapter in their story, from the cinematic backdrop of Quentin Tarantino’s New Beverly Cinema to the serene landscapes of Barnsdall Park. The highlight? Sharing Matzo ball soup and cookies at a local Jewish deli! And, of course, we had to celebrate at a local Thai food restaurant, marking the end of a perfect Los Angeles day. 

What stood out to me the most was how every detail, every choice, was a reflection of Maddie and Devin’s personalities and their journey together. This engagement session wasn’t just about beautiful photos (although that’s certainly a perk!); it was about celebrating their unique love story in a way that was true to them and no one else.
